History
The doors to Newberry Animal Hospital were opened in 1989 by founder Jeffrey Philpot, DVM. Veterinary services included both in-clinic and mobile veterinary care. It was very common for the doctors to work on both large and small animal species. Dr. Philpot passed away in November, 2008 but his commitment to providing outstanding animal care lives on in our practice. Clients and patients can see the lovely memorial bench, Japanese magnolia tree, and plaque dedicated to Dr. Philpot's memory in our front parking area.
In 2000 an addition was added to the north which nearly doubled the size of the practice. Over the past few years each exam room has been given a theme. Exam Room 3 remains Dr. Philpots fishing theme with pictures of his fish camp in Suwannee. In 2009, the lobby and the building front underwent a much-needed renovation. The lobby paint has been updated as well as the flooring. Renovations to the exterior of the building included a sprucing up of the landscaping – giving our dogs additional space for their pee-mail!
