The most time-efficient manner is to use the on-line refill form so you don’t have to wait around for it to be filled.
Please allow 24 hours for prescription refills, we are a full service veterinary facility that receives walk-ins and emergencies. Giving us advanced notice will help decrease your wait time on refills.
Remember that prescription request must meet Florida Pharmacy Law. In order to do so your pet must have a current doctor patient relationship (a physical exam within the prior 6 months). There are exceptions based on the patient’s diagnosis and the specific medication. Some medications require annual or semi-annual blood work to verify effectiveness and insure your pet is not having unwanted side-effects. Please feel free to contact us with questions either by phone or email through the contact us area of this website.
Note: If you have multiple medication requests please enter these in the “additional info” area. Please include the name of the medication, the strength (mg), and number requesting. If we have questions we will contact you.

Commonly Asked Questions Regarding Prescription Refills
What Do I Need to Provide for Refills?
First, you and your pet must be an established client of Newberry Animal Hospital. Your pet must have had a comprehensive exam within the last 12 months. Please refer to the on-line refill form below for additional required information.
How Long Will It Take to Receive My Refill?

For in-person refills, we will do our best to complete the refill in as timely a manner as possible. To avoid delays, we encourage you to use our on-line refill form listed below.
We’re taking our pet with us on an extended trip – can we get advanced refills?

What About Ordering Pet Medication Refills on-line?
We caution our clients on ordering pet medications on-line, for the following reasons. First, it’s hard to identify the country of origin – importing medications from outside the United States is not approved by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. Second, it’s hard to verify if the medications are the correct dose and not expired. Third, only your veterinarian can assess all the medications that are being administered to your pet to insure no adverse or harmful interactions. Finally, we cannot provide a warranty for medications purchased outside of the practice. For example; if you were to purchase heartworm medication through an online pharmacy and your pet were to become infected with heartworm disease, the online pharmacy would not cover the cost of the heartworm treatment. Heartworm treatment cost from anywhere between $400-$700 dollars. The only guarantee for coverage of heartworm infection is to provide proof of purchase through a licensed veterinarian along with a negative yearly heartworm test.
