ANNUAL CHARITY
DOG WASH

We have an annual dog wash each year.  We have raised thousands of dollars in the past decade to benefit the American Cancer Society's 'Relay for Life' event.  We raffle wonderful prizes from our generous local businesses, and offer options for nail trims and ear cleaning all to support this great cause.  We believe in being very involved in the community where live, work, and raise our children. 

School Teddy Bear Clinic

We will come to your school!  We can provide an opportunity for kids to learn about this industry through the care and repair of their stuffed animal!
 
Children bring their own tattered teddy bear to the Teddy Bear Clinic for a check-up with a Veterinarian from Newberry Animal Hospital. We will ‘patch up’ your favorite tattered teddy...or other stuffed animal!
 
Services Available: Stitch loose seams, listen to the heartbeat, ‘splint’ broken limbs and apply paw print patch or bandage.  Click here to see the Certificate of Health that is given to the child to take home! 

Career Day

We can also visit your school for your CAREER DAYS, whether it's elementary, middle or high school.  One of our Doctors will visit and can talk about the schooling required or why someone might want to be a Veterinarian, or any specific vet industry topic, if you have one in mind! 

Corporate Health Fairs

We regularly participate in some of our local large company health fairs.  If they have Blue Cross Blue Shield or Avmed come visit for human health, they will include us to address pet health for the furry family members.  And we love to bring SWAG!

Previously known as Drool & Ghoul at Westside Park, this event is always fun! One dog-owner called it her 'dog's Christmas' because they take him every year, and he LOVES it.

Newberry Animal Hospital Group is a committed  sponsor of the "Stop, Paws and Learn" event.  A whole community to celebrate animal lovers, learn about pets, pet care and all other sorts of animals with an emphasis on childrens' literacy, all in the hands-on and fun-filled environment at the Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo!  This is a family event that you won't want to miss.

Newberry Animal Hospital can set up an event table at your pet-related event.  Here is Dr. Baltzley at the Park Avenue Apartments near our 39th Avenue location. One of their amenities is an enclosed dog park for their tenants use.  How great is that? We also raffled off a pet gift basket to one of the tenants!

Newberry Animal Hospital doesn't just provide excellent veterinary care in Gainesville and Newberry, Florida.  We believe in supporting the community that allows us to operate as a small local business entity during a time when many businesses are being purchased by large, corporate entities. 

 

To actively show our support, we are a member of the United Way Small Business Partnership board.  In addition, we regularly sponsor many local events like the Newberry Main Street Fall Festival, Five Points of Life One-Miler, the Stop Childrens Cancer Holiday Concert, PK Yonge's Performing Arts Programs, and Woofstock, benefitting the Alachua County Humane Society, just to name a few.
