Getting to Know Dr. Nelson!

Dr. Andrew Nelson is the newest veterinarian at our Newberry location and has already made a strong impression with his thoughtful approach and genuine care for both pets and their people. Bringing valuable experience and a passion for high quality medicine, Dr. Nelson is known for taking the time to truly listen, making sure every client feels confident and every patient is treated with intention and attention to detail. In this DVM interview, Marketing Professional Kaitlin was excited to sit down with Dr. Nelson and learn more about the path that shaped him into the veterinarian he is today.
Kaitlin: Dr. Nelson, what is your earliest memory of a pet in your life?
Dr. Nelson: My first dog, a golden retriever named Kelly.
K: Is there something about you that most people do not know but would be surprised to hear?
AN: I played college football at the University of Virginia.
K: If you could go back and have five minutes with your ‘younger self’, how would you use that time, or what would you say?
AN: Don’t sweat the small things. Take a deep breath and do your best, which is always enough.
K: How do you want the world to be different because you lived in it?
AN: I want my children to become the happy, contributing individuals that they should be and live up to their potential.
K: When you find yourself with free time unexpectedly how do you spend it?
AN: Boat days! Golf with friends and family, spontaneous road trip adventures
